As I begin my term as AASCIF President, I would like to recognize the
commitment and contributions over the last two years from AASCIF President Ken
Ross, AASCIF Secretary/Treasurer Jeff Tetrick, and the staff at Pinnacol
Assurance. It is because of their work that I can begin my term with the
confidence that the organization has maintained its high standards.
So many possibilities lie ahead of us during the next two years. As the
economies at home and abroad face obstacles, so will our businesses
collectively. We have an opportunity and a responsibility to face these
challenges head-on, and create a culture of communication. Communication is
paramount among AASCIF members, boards, employees and an array of external
audiences including local, state and national regulators, media and the public.
Let’s make a commitment to communication by embracing every opportunity we
have to strengthen our organization and industry. With this commitment in mind,
AASCIF’s Executive Committee approved a mid-year AASCIF CEO meeting to be held
in conjunction with the National Issues Seminar in Washington, D.C. in June.
Also, more details will soon be available regarding the workshops planned by
each of AASCIF’s 10 standing committees.
I look forward to the many challenges and opportunities of serving as AASCIF
President for the next two years. I stand strong in my commitment to you
and the organization. I and the AASCIF Central Office staff at Missouri
Employers Mutual look forward to
assisting you with any organizational questions or concerns that may arise.
Please do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
Dennis W. Smith
AASCIF President
