We all know the Academy Awards recognize the best of the best in the motion picture world. But are you aware that AASCIF has its own "Oscars"? The AASCIF Communications Awards pay tribute to the most creative communications work produced by our member funds and boards in the United States and Canada. This year, the AASCIF awards will be announced at the annual meeting in Lexington, Kentucky, July 15-28.
Why Enter??!!
Day in and day out, the communication teams at our funds are responsible for educating and informing our customers and the public about the importance of workplace safety, and the role of workers’ compensation insurance. As you are aware, work comp topics can be a bit dry and confusing. But without fail, our communication departments take these topics and create innovative and informative brochures, newsletters, websites, video presentations and advertising campaigns that promote our mission of safety. The AASCIF Communications Awards are intended to recognize these creative and effective communications programs.
Prizes are awarded in 13 categories with first, second and third place winners. Additionally, there is a Best of Show category for the “Best of the Best” among first place winners in all categories. The Nova Scotia Chapter of the Canadian Public Relations Society will judge this year’s awards.
Participation is open to all AASCIF member funds or boards. If your organization hasn’t submitted an entry before why not enter this year. If you regularly submit, please be aware that the deadline for entries is April 30. The deadline is earlier than in previous years due to the annual meeting date in July.
An entry form was sent out in early March to all of the funds and boards. If you did not receive the form or need more information, contact communications committee member Jennifer Vargen
