Audit and Statistics

• AASCIF online Fact Book. Develop format standards and instructions for Fact Book submissions. Coordinate contacting AASCIF funds for this year’s update.

• Perform annual audit of AASCIF.
Present results to AASCIF officers at August annual conference. Develop recommendations for AASCIF records retention policy.

AASCIF News articles. Prescription drug costs, investment risks.
Workshop. Phoenix, Ariz., Oct. 18-20.


Claims and Rehabilitation

AASCIF News articles. Bad faith claims, narcotic abuse, life care planning.

• Workshop.
Medical issues, training claims personnel, employer liability and extra contractual litigation, summary and benchmarking from ’03 committee survey. Austin, Texas, Sept. 26-29.


Communications

• Communications Awards. 13 categories. Announcements mailed in April.

AASCIF News articles. Seminars, Communications Awards results, reputation management, e-services and online tools.

• Workshop. E-commerce, web content management, web metrics, reputation management, reaching diverse audiences. Charleston, W.V., Oct. 13-15.


Finance and Investment Committee
• Annual finance and investment survey.

Human Resources

• AASCIF website. Update HR personnel directory and fact sheets for each fund. Develop HR library and list of training expertise within AASCIF funds.

Information Technology

Law

• Surveys. Top ten cases nationwide. State legislation. Proposed federal Guest Worker Initiative Act.

• AASCIF News articles. OFAC and TRIA, Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act, legal maze of work comp in various states.

• Workshop.
Litigation management benchmark, subrogation, legislative efforts to contain work comp costs, top 10 cases, compliance issues and corporate governance. San Diego, Calif., Oct. 6-8.


National Issues

• Projects. TRIA, Washington Watch, develop resource of adverse legislation information for AASCIF CEOs, expand into topics around operational excellence.
