SCF Names Eight as ‘Best of the Best’ for Workplace Safety
MESA – SCF Arizona, the state’s largest workers’ compensation provider, honored March 7, eight Arizona businesses for their workplace safety efforts, during its annual Workplace Safety Expo at Centennial Hall in Mesa. The companies were recognized for their innovation, financial investment and rigorous training commitments in improving on-the-job safety and security and in reducing the number of injuries and time lost by employees.
Forty-six private companies and five non-profit and public entities were among the nominees for the honor. The eight winning companies were: Ace Asphalt of Arizona, Crisis Nursery, Mitchell Electric, Petersen & Dean Construction, Red Rock Stamping,; Talley Defense Systems Inc., Tempe School District No. 3 and Universal Underground.
“A good safety record is no accident,” says Don Smith, president & CEO of SCF Arizona, who says companies that focus on safety are making a good investment in their businesses. “Our objective is for workers to be safe on the job; that’s what we are about.
